In addition to the campaign would you want to pay for an annual weekend event with long time-ins at a Very Swanky Location? (A historic British castle with a mote; a lavish Regency mansion; other upscale wedding venues.)
So as not to disadvantage players who cannot make such a treat/one off game, the plots for these will be standalone, for example they take place in another region that the campaign characters travel to - for OOC purposes, I will advertise this weekend game to a wider audience of (consensual, mature and respectful!) LARPers, to spice things up for us and expand the community we have. Standalone characters will be created with the same love and care, but you will simply see them less, or just the once (a few LARPers have expressed an interest in attending but because they have to fly into England to reach us, it cannot be regularly).
((There are no downtimes that follow the weekend events; they are truly standalone, although they do take place in the same world, time and setting as the campaign. Your characters attend in truth if you wish to attend one, and you can of course roleplay tales of what they got up to! These games represent a way for us to really let loose in a gorgeous setting, with emotionally-charged, deeper standalone plot.))
